Repair or replace: the BS AU 159 standard we work to
Whether a puncture can be repaired rather than replaced comes down to the British Standard BS AU 159. Under that standard, the damage has to sit within the central three quarters of the tread, not on the shoulder or the sidewall, and the puncture itself can be no more than 6mm across.
