CityGrip Recovery arranges furniture collection and delivery in London: sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables and other single or multiple items, from sellers, shops or between homes. You tell us what the items are, their sizes, the collection and delivery postcodes and the access at each end, and we confirm the mover or movers, what is included and the price before you book.
What we collect and deliver
From private sellers
Furniture you have bought on Facebook Marketplace, eBay or Gumtree and need collected, with the seller's address and a time agreed.
From shops and showrooms
A purchase you want collected from a shop, or a delivery to a different address from the one you paid for.
Between two homes
A few pieces moved between your own addresses, or to a relative, a student room or a storage unit.
A single large item
One sofa, bed, wardrobe, dining table or appliance. Tell us the size and weight.
Several items
A group of items from the same address or a few different ones. List them and say where each is.
Part of a bigger move
For a whole flat or house see flat removals or house removals.
Measure before you book
Most problems with furniture delivery are about fit, not distance. A sofa that is wider than a doorway, a wardrobe that will not turn on a landing, or a bed frame that will not go in a lift all cause delays. Measure the item at its widest, tallest and deepest, and measure the route it has to take: front door, hallway, stairs, landings and the lift if there is one.
If you know that something has to be taken apart to get through, tell us at the quote stage. Taking furniture apart and assembly are available on request, so say so when you ask for the quote.
How to arrange a collection or delivery
1. List the items
Write down what is being moved and the sizes. Photos sent on WhatsApp help us choose the van and the number of movers.
2. Give us both addresses
Collection and delivery postcodes, the floors, any lift, and who will meet us at each end.
3. We confirm the details
We say how many movers are needed, what is included and the price, before you book.
4. Agree and it is booked
Once you have agreed, the job is booked for your date.
If you are collecting from a seller
- Agree a collection window with the seller and make sure someone will be at the address.
- Keep the seller's address and contact number to hand.
- Check the item against the description and your measurements before it is loaded.
- Tell us if the item needs taking apart, or if you have already done it.
- If something has changed, such as the item no longer being available, tell us as early as you can.
What affects the price
- The size and weight of the items, and how many there are.
- One mover or two. Heavy or awkward items often call for two movers.
- The distance between the addresses and how long the job will take.
- Floors, stairs and lifts at each address.
- Parking and the carry from the van.
- Any Congestion Charge or ULEZ cost on the route. Ask whether it is included.

Furniture collection and delivery FAQs
Can you collect furniture from a seller?
Give us the seller's address, a collection window and the item sizes, and we confirm the details and give you the price upfront.
Can you deliver to a different address from where I am?
Yes. Put the delivery postcode on the quote form and tell us who will be there to receive the items. We give you the price upfront.
Do I need two movers for a sofa or wardrobe?
Large sofas and wardrobes are usually safer with two movers, especially on stairs. Tell us the size and the access, and we will recommend what suits.
Will you assemble or take apart furniture?
Yes, both are available on request. Tell us when you request the quote which items need taking apart or putting together.
What if the item will not fit through the door?
Measure before you book and tell us the dimensions. If an item might not fit, say so, and we will discuss the options before the job rather than on the day.
How do I get a quote?
Use the online quote form, call 07960 200253 or message us on WhatsApp. We confirm the price before you book.
