Flat Removals London: Apartment and Studio Moves

Flat moves are decided by access: lifts, stairs, parking and building rules. Tell us about both buildings and we confirm the details and the price before anything is booked.

  • Price upfront, before you book
  • All of London and beyond
  • Seven days a week, 8am to 8pm
  • Phone, WhatsApp or online form

Flat removals are moves out of, into or between flats, apartments and studios. CityGrip Recovery arranges flat removals in London with one mover or two. The details that matter most are the floors, whether there is a working lift, where the van can stop, and any rules set by the building. Tell us about both addresses and we confirm what is included and the price before you book.

What decides how a flat move goes

Lifts

A working lift makes a move quicker, but small lifts limit the size of furniture. Measure the lift and ask whether it can be reserved for your move.

Stairs

With no lift, every item goes down and up stairs. Tell us the number of floors and flights, and whether the stairs turn or are narrow.

Loading access

Where can the van stop, and how long is the carry from the van to the front door? A short carry saves time and effort.

Building rules

Managing agents often set times for moves, ask for notice, or require lift protection. Ask before moving day, not on it.

Parking

On busy streets, space for a van may need a permit or a bay suspension from the council. Arrange it early.

Timing

If a building restricts moves to certain hours, tell us and we will take that into account when we quote.

Studio, one-bedroom and larger flats

A studio or one-bedroom flat with a lift and a short carry is a typical job for a man and van. A two or three-bedroom flat with a lot of furniture, or a high floor without a lift, may need two movers or a larger plan, which is closer to house removals.

Tell us what you have and the access at each end. We say which service we think suits, how many movers, and what is included, before you book.

Checking the building before moving day

1. Ask the managing agent or landlord

Is there a moving policy? Are there restricted days or hours, a booking system for the lift, or a deposit for protecting communal areas?

2. Measure the route

Measure the lift, the stairwell and any tight doorways against your largest items, including the sofa and wardrobe.

3. Sort out parking

Find out where the van can stop, whether it needs a permit or suspension of a bay, and how long the carry will be.

4. Tell us everything

Put the floors, lift details, building rules and parking notes on the quote form, so the quote reflects the real access.

What affects a flat removals quote

  • The size of the flat and the amount of furniture.
  • The number of movers: one or two.
  • Floors at each address, lifts and stairs.
  • Where the van can stop and how long the carry is.
  • Any building-imposed time slots.
  • The distance between the addresses.
  • Any Congestion Charge or ULEZ cost on the route. Ask whether it is included in the quote.

Flat removals FAQs

What if there is no lift?

Tell us the floor and the number of flights. We recommend the number of movers accordingly, and for heavy furniture on higher floors two movers are usually the safer choice.

Do I need to book the lift?

Many buildings ask for lifts to be reserved for moves. Ask your managing agent or landlord well before the day, and tell us any slot you have been given.

How do I arrange parking for the van?

On busy streets you may need a permit or a bay suspension from your local council, and arrangements vary by borough. Check the council website or ask your managing agent, and tell us what is arranged.

Can you move a flat on a high floor?

Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift and the size of the larger items. We say what we think is realistic and which number of movers suits the job.

Will I pay the Congestion Charge or ULEZ?

The Congestion Charge depends on the route and the time. The ULEZ depends on the vehicle, because it covers every London borough. Ask us whether any charge is included in your quote, and see TfL for the current rules on the Congestion Charge and the ULEZ.

How do I get a quote?

Use the online quote form, call 07960 200253 or message us on WhatsApp. We confirm what is included and the price before you book.
