Check the vehicle before choosing a battery boost
A non-start needs assessment. A jump start cannot repair every battery, charging or starting fault. Tell us about previous failed starts and any warning messages. For a van or commercial vehicle, provide the electrical-system details if known; vehicle size alone does not establish the voltage.
For hybrids and EVs, the low-voltage system and procedure depend on the model. Manufacturer guidance matters; a boost does not recharge the traction battery. See this example of manufacturer jump-start guidance.
Do not attempt to boost a damaged or leaking battery. Follow the vehicle handbook and seek qualified help when unsure. Read the AA jump-start safety guidance.
If the car still cannot be driven, we can discuss recovery to an agreed destination. Tell us the receiving garage and confirm that it can accept the vehicle.
